Japan earthquake... My house

Even 180 km from the earthquake area my house was badly affected... cracks everywhere and the house inclination that makes me feel dizzy sometimes... had to change the bed position... I think is just 2 or 5 cm... but still not good the carpenter said... those type of inclinations happen when the structure is too fragile or old or sometimes when the ground moves the position of the house... another big problem it is not insured by the government... the house have to fall down so I can receive $30.000 from japanese govern... by the way a house here costs more than $100K... The people in the affected area in the province of Fukushima lost not only their houses, their jobs and all they had... I'm trying to make a space in my schedule so I can go to the place to help a little... some houses still full of mud, dead fish, and all you can imagine... some volunteers went there to help but still a lot to do. The area in the countryside of Japan is not easy to access and volunteers should be prepared from clothing, drink water and own way to transport car or motorcycle... by foot is impossible, since the area is too extent and places to stay at night are very far... they provide the scopes... and tools to clean the houses... the situation still very unstable so anything can happen, other earthquakes, and the nuclear plant  can explode anytime of the day or the night the Energy co. responsible for the nuclear plant is doing what they can to control the situation, still very dangerous, nuke is nuke can't be controlled at all.

The spirit of fight

Since the earthquake, all we hear on the TV is Gambare Nippon, meaning Figjting Japan... well I wish my spirit was the same, some TV shows try to not touch on the earthquake or nuclear plant theme, some more serious channels like NHK, still the whole day giving the latest news... When you watch a movie and know what will happen in the end is difficult to go with the idea that everything will be alright, yesterday the co. responsible for the nuclear reactor announced the plans to recover and control the situation on their plans they said it will take from 6 to 9 months... not true, even people from the Japanese mass media and some specialists says that it will take more than a year to the situation stabilize, some don't believe that will happen and the worse case scenario can happen, the second Chernobyl ? or even worse if you compare the size of Japan.
I don't feel like this country will recover so quickly it may take from 5 to 10 years to all start to normalize, various countries like Brazil stopped total import of Japanese products, Korea and China the neighbors  are not happy with the situation the polluted water and air can easily reach their countries.
The Brazilian Consulate Japan started a meeting to plan what to do in case of  total evacuation of Brazilians workers, I think it still to lame, they should do it faster like America did.
Some people say that only cowards run in this situation, in Brazil we say is better to be an alive coward than a dead hero I go with the same line, we can't help Japan if we die... in this type of situation you have to know what is the best thing to do. suicide is not in my list.
I hope they fix the nuclear plant, still don't believe they can deal with it, my intuition says. I'm cleaning the house just in case...
See you.

Japan earthquake a month after

Japan still in a dangerous position, nothing is certain, since last year I was planning to leave Japan because the bad economy, may be this is the time, since things getting worse everyday. Scared ? just a little what I feel now it is much more stress, stay in a place where the information is so late and government controlled...
I knew some days ago about the correction plate can be worse than the first earthquake, the first one was in deep sea the plate correction will be on solid ground and about 5 to 7 in magnitude (it happened in the past), we are having this magnitude 5 since Monday this month, if a magnitude 7 hits on solid ground we will have another disaster may be worse than the first one. The situation is difficult, another thing is that most people are losing their jobs or have to stay at their homes, until the co. receive parts to assemble their products, in my case I still have my job don't know for how long...
I try to stay safe sometimes I wake with the shakes of the ground... it's causes me some type of stress, it's hard to handle it.. My family and friends in Brazil are very shocked and concerning about my safety they don't want me to stay here any longer... well I guess it's a destiny call, if someone live or die.
For sure taking care can help and increase the chances to survive in some situations.
I hope this nightmare to end soon, and for all to be safe and have their normal life back.
We have no power against the big nature.
See you.

one week after the earthquake...

OK, it was a difficult and stress full week, it's was hard to concentrate on update my blog, small quakes gave some kind of trauma, we never know when a big one will come so I sleeping near the entrance door, don't want to be smashed to death if my house fall in pieces...
Is incredible how people get in panic in situations like this I'm in area 200 km from the affected area and people acting like is the end of the world buying stock of foods, gasoline, water, etc. the bad thing about it is that it is creating more and more chaos and people who really need water and food is not getting it... I saw some selfish people who never bought instant noodle, buying boxes of it for stock... gasoline is another big issue, 3 to 4 km lines is common daily picture, I think they don't even mind in use other type of transport like a bicycle or make a15 min walk to their work... lazy people...
Don't know what to think now, but I guess that people panic and do the dumb move influenced by the TV.
Since last Saturday, some convenience stores doubled their food stock, even now you see people buying twice of what they really need... it's a shame... or it is just a human side!?
Well I'm OK, sleeping well, jumping like a fireman when needed at least I'm safe.
I wish to thank you all for the email, support, comments that people I know all over the world, it's really nice know you all are there.
Just to finish I think the Japan situation proves how strong is the nature against the Man and how dangerous is to have nuclear energy of any type. Let's all say no to nuke's.
I posted and quick update in my other blog, you can check it out here.
See you...
